An email redirect, or forwarder, is a function that forwards messages from one address to a
different email address. The feature is handy if you want to advertise a number
of email addresses on your web site and have them all forward to a single
address instead of having to maintain multiple POP3
email addresses. The address the email is redirected to doesn't even need to
be one associated with the domain you have hosted with us.
To create an email redirect with an existing email address:
- Log in to your control panel.
- Click the "Home" link in the left hand menu
- Click "Mail"
- Click the email address you wish to turn into a redirect
- Click the "Redirect" icon
- Type in the email address you wish to redirect to - this can be one of
your existing POP3 email addresses associated with your domain, or an
external address - whether your ISP, another domain or even an email service
such as Gmail.
- Tick the "redirect" check box
- Click "OK"
- Done!
We also have a video tutorial of the
above steps; but if you require additional assistance, please contact our
friendly support team.
If you're looking for additional functionality, such as being able to forward
email to a certain address to multiple people; instead of creating a redirect,
use the "Mail Group"
feature.
Email redirects are just one of the many powerful features Domain
Registration Services offers at absolutely no additional cost to all our email
and web hosting clients!
