All you need to know about domain names and web hosting to help you set up rapidly and make the most of our services.

  Creating and editing email redirects

An email redirect is an email account that forwards email to another email address; either one associated with the domain name you are hosting with us, or to an external address.

To create an email redirect, you'll first need to create a POP3 email address (Step 1). If you already have a POP3 email address, see step 2 below.

Instructions for editing redirects or restoring a redirect to a POP3 email address are also below.

Step 1 : Here's how to create a POP3 email account associated with your domain (we also offer a step-by-step video tutorial):

  1. Log in to your control panel.
  2. Click on "Create Mail Account".
  3. Enter the mailname that you want to create (ie. "joe", not the full address).
  4. Enter the new password and confirm the new password.
  5. Check the "Mailbox" box.
  6. You can set a mailbox quota size if you wish, or leave it set to "default"
  7. Click on "Finish".

Step 2 : To create an email redirect with your newly created or already existing email address. (We also have a video tutorial for this step):

  • Log in to your control panel; if not already logged in
  • Click the "Home" link in the left hand menu
  • Click "Mail"
  • Click the email address you want to turn into a redirect
  • Click the "Redirect" icon
  • Enter the email address you wish to redirect to - this can be one of your existing POP3 email addresses associated with your domain, or an external address.
  • Tick the "Redirect" box
  • Click "OK"
  • Done!

To change an email redirect back into a POP3 email address:

  • Click the "Home" link in the left hand menu
  • Click "Mail"
  • Click the email address that is redirecting
  • Click on the "Redirect" icon
  • Untick "Redirect" in the following screen
  • Click "OK"
  • Done!

To change the email address a redirect forwards to:

  • Click the "Home" link in the left hand menu
  • Click "Mail"
  • Click the email address that is redirecting
  • Click the "Redirect" icon
  • Change the email address in the following screen
  • Click "OK"
  • Done!
